The directory lists homeowners who have requested that their names be shown on the keypad at the entry gate. Guests or vendors will find your name on the keypad and press the designated button, and then the system will dial the phone number programmed for you. Once you answer the call, press 9 to grant access to the caller, or press 5 to deny access. After either selection, the call will be disconnected. If you elect to be placed in the directory, only your name will be shown on the keypad for visitors to view. To add your name to your gate directory, please complete this form Directory- Add/ Remove
Device and Gate FAQ’s
Are there costs associated with a new device?
This depends on your community. Once you submit your form. Someone from our office will review your address
and reach back out to you and let you know if there will be a cost associated with your requested device.
How can I pay for my device?
You may log on to your owner portal www.homeriverconnect.com - Please note that gate remotes are optional and
entry by gate access code or directory listing is free of charge for all homeowners. You may also request a one time
ACH or Credit Card form.
How can guests enter my community?
Guests will pull up to the keypad at the gate and search the directory for your name. They will see your name and a
number on the display and enter it on the keypad. It will then dial the phone number you have provided to
HomeRiver Group and connect you to the guest through a speakerphone at the gate. Press “9” on your phone to
allow the guest to enter. If you do not wish to allow access, just hang up.
Are there any times when the gates will stay open?
You may see the gates stay open during or shortly after a power failure. The gates have a small battery designed to
open them and leave them open until power has been reliably restored. This is done to prevent you from being
locked in or locked out during a power failure. Another time they may stay open is during community sales, busy
times such as too and from work and school at the request of your board. Lastly, your gate may remain open for at
the request of a homebuilder if you are in a newer community.
What if there is a problem with the gate?
If there is an accident or injury regarding the front gate, please first call 911 immediately. Otherwise, contact
HomeRiver Group.
Can emergency vehicles get in?
Yes, they have been given special gate access codes to use. The gate is also programmed to open when it senses
emergency lights or sirens directly in front of the reader.
How do delivery vendors (such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) get through?
Delivery vendors typically have their own codes. If you are expecting a delivery, please help to communicate that
you live in a gated community and confirm that the vendor has a code. If not, the vendor may use the directory to
gain access.
How do food deliveries get through?
These vendors should call you using the directory on the keypad at the front entrance.
My house is on the market for sale. What code should I give so realtors can show the property?
Please email HomeRiver Group to request a code to provide your realtor. Please note that this code will be linked to
your property, so it is important to be given only to reputable realtors who are active on your property.
